How to pick the right size tractor for you? This can be a very daunting task, one that is hard to really even figure out where to start? Well, it helps to simplify the process and not worry about all the manufacturers, series, and model numbers in the beginning. I always suggest to my customers to make a list of needs and wants. Things like budget for the tractor and attachments (maybe a trailer or shed/barn too), a list of desired features, and a list of tasks that need to be accomplished. After that, you need to start prioritizing as there is rarely a tractor that will check every single one of those items off your priority list and keep you 100% satisfied.

However, this doesn’t mean you can’t find an excellent tractor that will serve you well and make you very happy It just means that you need to get realistic with your expectations. So, ranking those items you’ve written down will steer you to the right machine or at least frame size to narrow it down to a handful of machines. This takes a lot of the hopelessness out of the tractor purchasing process because it gives you a real solid place to start searching.
