One use isn’t as good as two—that’s why we made the GWT VersaPusher, a combination snow pusher and bucket for your tractor.

In its primary position, the Versapusher is our favorite snow removal attachment—a snow pusher. Invert the pusher on its bolt-on frame and now you have a bucket for mulch, debris, and other light material. No need to let your snow pusher sit unused for half the year.

GWT VersaPusher

combine a snow pusher and a bucket

Why do we love a snow pusher so much for clearing snow on our tractor?

  • No moving parts to maintain or break
  • Less overflow when clearing compared to a plow
  • Backdrags allow for snow removal against buildings, walls, and parked cars
  • The open bottom allows for way more efficient moving than dumping snow from a bucket

That’s four, just to name a few about snow pushers in general. But there are more reasons to love our snow pusher in particular that we get into below.

Okay. So you’re on board. You buy a snow pusher, you’re happy all winter, but then it stops snowing. Now what? Well with all other snow pushers, you set your expensive attachment aside for six or eight months. And it does nothing for you.

Not the case with the VersaPusher! You can unbolt the VersaPusher from its frame, roll it over, and reattach it to the frame upside down. Now you have a large volume bucket for hauling and spreading light material like mulch, or digging into a pile of loose topsoil.

Once winter comes around again, just flip it back over and you’re running it as a snow pusher all season long. There is no other attachment like the VersaPusher in the tractor market.

How To Select Your VersaPusher

Walk through the information below to best select the set up that works for your tractor and snow clearing needs.

Dimensions

The GWT VersaPusher comes in three widths—54, 66, and 78 inches. Choose your width based on the following:

  • 54 inch is for tractors up to 27 hp and weighs 250 lb
  • 66 inch is for tractors with 28–40 hp and weighs 280 lb
  • 78 inch is for tractors with 41–60 hp and weighs 330 lb

Each width of the VersaPusher is 19 inches tall x 21.75 inches deep.

Attachment Style

Designed for front-end loaders, the pusher connects to an independent bolt-on frame. Each frame has holes for multi-positioning to best fit your tractor and loader.

The bolt-on frame comes in four connection styles:

  • John Deere Quick Attach (JDQA) for 1–4 series tractors (89 lb)
  • Skid Steer Quick Attach (SSQA)
  • Yanmar Quick Attach (Yanmar QA)
  • GWT*
*The GWT connection style fits our GWT VersaFrame—our very own foundation for an increasing number of attachments. The VersaFrame is available to purchase with the VersaPusher if you don’t have one already.
The VersaFrame is designed to attach to JDQA and SSQA loaders and each style also connects to your 3-Point hitch. The VersaFrame is also a frame for pallet forks and our GWT Add-A-Wrecker stump buckets. Beyond those attachments the VersaFrame has an integrated weight rack, gooseneck trailer hitch slot, 2 inch receiver, and welded chain hooks for towing or securing a load.
Note, the product photos show the VersaPusher on the VersaFrame.

Standard Features

The VersaPusher has more than meets the eye, including what you don’t see. Let’s walk through its features:
  • Fully rolled pan
    • Keeps snow rolling forward as you drive
    • Reinforced support strapping for strength
    • The exterior dimensions are 19 inches tall x 21.75 inches deep x Your Selected Width
  • Fully integrated backdrag
    • Allows you to roll the pusher to the dump position and drag snow away from walls, cars, garage doors, or whatever you need
    • Since it’s integrated, there is no need to buy an expensive add-on
  • No internal cross-bracing
    • Many snow pushers beef up their structure with internal cross bracing that traps the very snow you’re trying to remove
    • Our pusher has been designed to be strong enough without internal bracing
  • Steel Cutting Edge
    • Made from hardened AR400 Steel (AR=Abrasion Resistant)
    • Reversible Design
      • Smooth edge for scraping
      • Icebreaker Serrated Edge for digging or ice breaking (see photo below)
      • Supplied with two, one for main cutting edge, second for the backdrag edge
      • Bolt-on, replaceable design
  • Skid-Runners
    • 4 inch wide
    • Adjustable height
      • For paved surfaces align the height with the cutting edge
      • For gravel surfaces you’ll likely set the runners to their lowest position as they’ll sink into the gravel but keep your cutting edge on the surface (you want to push snow, not gravel)
  • Reversible design
    • Unbolt, rollover, bolt-on, and now your pusher is a bucket
      • The bucket is a large volume bucket designed for light material hauling.  It is not meant for digging in hardpack or dense materials

Optional Pavement Protection Kit

Replace your steel cutting edge and skid runners with UHMW. UHMW is a hard, smooth plastic that is great for protecting your paved surfaces while clearing snow. We like to say “it cuts like steel, but protects like rubber.”

  • UHMW Cutting Edge*: A 5 x 3/4 inch cutting edge cut to the width of your pusher
  • UHMW Skid Runners
    • To further protect your paved surfaces, we include UHMW Skid Runners
    • These are adjustable like the steel runners

Note the Pavement Protection Kit ships in addition to the two steel edges and steel skid runners.

If you don’t want to spend the money on a snow blower, we think a snow pusher is the best solution for most folks in snow country. And we think there is no better value snow pusher than the GWT VersaPusher. The only snow pusher that serves a dual purpose in the off-season to be used as a bucket on your front-end loader.

*An additional UHMW Cutting Edge is available for your backdrag, but be sure to swap back to your steel edge when using in the bucket position.

Skip the Frustration!

If you’ve ever tried to push snow on a tractor, it can be a frustrating experience if your tractor isn’t set up right. Just like any material, a pile of snow can weigh a lot. And your tractor needs the proper traction to push a full pusher load of snow!

You need to add ballast weight to the rear of your tractor. You can accomplish this ballast in many ways:

  • Liquid ballast in your rear tires
    • We recommend Rim Guard Liquid Ballast
  • Hang weight off your 3-Point
  • Gain even more weight with our Hitch Hangers
    • Hold up to 450 lb of additional weight
    • Won’t interfere with a rear attachment
    • Compatible with GWT Fast Cat I quick hitch
On top of traction, you need counterweight (rear ballast) if you use your front-end loader. Tractors are not heavy enough to offset the load in a bucket, and it’s dangerous to operate without proper ballast. See if your owner’s manual (loader or tractor) indicates how much you need, or use a rule of thumb that the max lift capacity might be close to the amount you need on the back.
We have an entire video about ballast weight here to help you understand its importance!
