We love flail mowers because they’re compact, which makes for better maneuvering, and they shred grass and brush better than a rotary cutter. Wessex offers pull-type flail mowers to mow behind your ATV or UTV. They’re self-powered by their own Briggs & Stratton gas engines.
Wessex built this Flail Mower Series in three parts: Light Duty AFE, Standard Duty AFX, and this Heavy Duty AFR. We mowed down six foot tall grass into fine mulch using the AFR, doing as good of a job as (or maybe even better) than our 3-point flail mowers on our tractors.

What’s Covered
Our extended warranties cover defects in workmanship such as broken welds, torn steel, or improper fit. If a covered issue occurs, we will repair or replace the product at our discretion.
What’s Not Covered
Damage caused by improper use or use outside the product’s intended purpose voids the warranty.
Cosmetic wear such as paint loss, scratches, dents, or bent teeth, as well as normal wear to common attachment components and consumables including cutting edges, shanks, tines, skid runners, skid shoes, blades, belts, bushings, bearings, oils, grease, and similar wear items is not covered under warranty.
Shipping or transportation costs, downtime, and labor are not covered.
Transferability
This warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original owner/operator.
Wessex AF Flail Mower Highlights
Wessex makes very high quality flail mowers for ATVs (or UTVs). They are self-powered by their own gas engines and connect to your ball hitch.

- Swinglock Axle System. Within minutes—with no tools required—convert your typical side-wheeled ATV Flail Mower into a rear-wheeled mower, to mow closer to a hedge or fence line
- Flotation puncture-resistant, Kevlar-lined tires
- Large diameter rotor with spiral-positioned flails ensures an even cut and increased torque for dense vegetation
- 5mm steel decking, shot-blasted and powder coated for durability
- Break-away ball hitch keeps mower level across uneven terrain
