Summit Hydraulics Hydraulic Multiplier
With a hydraulic multiplier you can turn one hydraulic circuit on your tractor into two, three, four, or even five extra circuits. Multipliers expand your tractor’s hydraulic functionality, though you control one circuit at a time with a multiplier. So you can think of a multiplier as a diverter—diverting flow to the circuit you choose as you need it.
In order to use a hydraulic multiplier your tractor needs to have at least one rear remote (a hydraulic circuit). If you don’t have one, Summit Hydraulic’s sells Rear Remote Kits also.
Then you plumb your rear remote to the Multiplier, and plumb hoses from each open circuit on your multiplier to your Top & Tilt Kit or plug in your attachment’s hydraulic hoses to the Multiplier when in use.
Manual Vs Electric Controls
Summit offers hydraulic multipliers in two forms—manual or electric.
For the greatest cost savings, get a manually controlled multiplier. We wouldn’t recommend this for cab tractors, but only for open stations as you’ll want to easily be able to reach back to the multiplier to switch the selector lever as needed.
But since you’re already adding usefulness and increased functions to your tractor, we’d strongly suggest going for the electric multipliers. These come with a switch box that you’ll mount inside your cab, and then you’ll run one set of wires back to the Multiplier and the power comes from a 12v cigarette lighter or from your tractor’s battery.
Then using the switch box you select your hydraulic circuit which turn on a solenoid to open that circuit on the multiplier.
In either set up you operate the hydraulic circuit with your tractor’s rear remote control.
Installation of a Hydraulic Multiplier
Even those with little technical experience can install their own Hydraulic Multiplier. The hardest part is often finding a place to mount the multiplier itself. There are typically better mounting locations on open station tractors than on cab tractors. But it’s always model specific and you may end up fabricating a mount yourself to get it to your desired location.
The rest is accomplished using simple tools like socket wrenches and zip ties.
Uses for a Hydraulic Multiplier
The most common use for rear hydraulics on a tractor include:
- Hydraulic Top Link
- Adjusting Any Attachment’s Forward/Back Angle
- Connecting to and Disconnecting Attachments is Much Easier
- Hydraulic Side Link
- Rear Blade Angle
- Box Blade Angle
- Rake Angle
- Land Plane Angle
- Snow Blowers
- Chute Rotation
- Deflector Angle
- Power Rake Angling
- Flail Mower
- Side Angling
- Up/Down Angling
