Process Firewood, Wood Chips, Log Piles, and Stumps

There are a lot of tractor attachments you can use fore firewood and woo processing. The best selling attachment in this category for GWT is the Reist R25PD Stump Grinder.

You get a very worthy, simply designed 3-Point Stump Grinder with a 25″ rotor with replaceable teeth. We turned six stumps in our yard into dust in just a half hour, total! All you have to do is back up your tractor, lower your 3-Point incrementally, and drive forward over the stump while grinding.

Reist also makes a Swing-Arm Stump Grinder to take on larger stumps.

FireWood Processors

Firewood processors are very expensive. But you can get a processor powered by your tractor’s PTO that is towable, so you can take it right to your fallen tree and process firewood on the spot.

Firewood processors from Wallenstein are all-in-one machines. You can winch your logs up to the processor, cut the log to length, split, and then a conveyor can take those pieces right into your ATV bed or wagon.

Wood Chippers / Shredders

Taking down a tree or a large shrub usually doesn’t take all that long compared with processing it into useable or disposable pieces. And sometimes branches come down when you don’t want them, like after a storm.

Wallenstein’s Wood Chipper and Shredders let’s you put branches of trees and shrubs into the hopper and convert to wood chips. You can either use these chips for mulch in your garden beds, or just to get a jump start on decomposition.

Skidding Winch

After your trees are down you have the task of getting them where you need them. That’s where a Skidding Winch comes into play. Carry one on your 3-Point, and tie off to your fallen logs (even up to 3 at a time) over 150 ft away. Then the tractor powered winch will pull them right where you need them.

Tree PUller

One of the coolest and most fun attachments we used is Precision Mfg’s Tree Puller. This attachment is for a large tractor or skid steer, and it does just what you’d think it does.

Clamp the jaws to a tree and just yank em from the ground with the raw power of your loader. Obviously this is for smaller trees, but not small trees. We pulled 30 ft trees right from the ground with this Tree Puller.

Another handy use for it is pulling fence post and T-posts from the ground using the clamping power of the front scissor jaws.
