A 3-Point Disc Harrow is a tool used for tilling the ground in preparation for seeding. Dirt Dog’s Disc Harrow’s come in a huge variety of options with varying numbers of discs, disc sizes, and disc spacing. All use notched wheels to break up the ground, chopping up light roots and cutting any weeds or residual crops from the year before.
Four pre-set angle adjustments can be made on the front gangs, and four angle adjustments can be made on the rear gangs, independent of the front. These different angles and angle combinations allow for more or less aggressive tilling. The disc spacing is either 7.5″ front/back, 9″ front/back, or 7.5/9″ front/back.
We’ve used a Disc Harrow on very small compact tractors (a 25 hp Summit TX25), and larger, 70 horsepower utility tractors (a Kubota M4D-071) to till and prep the soil for food plots and visibility breaks. Discs are, of course, equally useful for fields, gardens, and even fire breaks.
A Disc Harrow may might take several passes to till up new ground, especially with sod. But the following years of discing will be easier and faster. See it in use in our videos below.
As with all Dirt Dog attachments, these Disc Harrows are Made in the USA, in Commerce, GA.

Dirt Dog Disc Harrow Overview
Gardeners, small farmers, hunters, landscapers, property owners and really anyone who needs to break up ground should consider a disc harrow.
All Disc Harrows from Dirt Dog use notched discs set at 7.5″, 9″, or 7.5″ in the front with 9″ in the rear. All discs use sealed, self-aligning ball bearings. They also all have four pre-set angles for the front and the back gangs at 0, 7, 14, and 21 degrees, which are set in place using an adjustment handle and a pin. Optional scraper kits are available to keep your discs from hanging on to clumps of mud and soil.
As you move from the 100 to 200 to 300 Series, the number of discs increases as does the size of discs available, and the size of the frame and gang hangers. Thus the weight increases also.
With discs, more weight is a good thing as you want good ground engagement and 3-Points do not have down-pressure. Just be sure your tractor has the power to pull it.

Recommended For Disc Harrow
We found ourselves relying on our hydraulic top link a lot as we disced. A hydraulic top link allows us to change the 3-Point attachment angle on the fly, allowing us to get extra aggressive at times. It’s one of our favorite accessories as it makes hooking up to 3-Point attachments way easier, especially with a Quick Hitch. You can save 5% with code GWT on any kit from Summit Hydraulics, including their Hydraulic Top Link Kit.
