Cosmetic wear such as paint loss, scratches, dents, or bent teeth, as well as normal wear to common attachment components and consumables including cutting edges, shanks, tines, skid runners, skid shoes, blades, belts, bushings, bearings, oils, grease, and similar wear items is not covered under warranty.
Shipping or transportation costs, downtime, and labor are not covered.
Transferability
This warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original owner/operator.
Wallenstein 27 Ton SELF-Powered Horizontal / Vertical Log-Splitters
This WXR740 and WXR740L are Self-Powered Horizontal / Vertical Log Splitters from Canadian manufacturer Wallenstein are towable with a 2″ ball hitch, but are self-supporting too.
They can split in the horizontal position with a 27″ bed height, or you can pull a pin and set them up to split vertically, eliminating the need to lift logs up to the split bed.
Both models have a 27 Ton Split Capacity powered by a 6.5 hp Vanguard engine, and a 24″ Split Opening with a 5.35s cycle time.
The difference between the WXR740 and WXR740L is that the L is Highway Towable with its hitch, safety chains, highway tires, and full trailer lighting. Lighting kits are factory installed, and equipped with brake lights and turn signals. It uses a standard 4-pin connector.
A 12″ hitch extension is required to pull behind an ATV.
A 2-Way Wide Wedge is included that pops the log in a short distance. A 4-Way Wedge is an option.
Wallenstein’s Firebolt Technology speeds up splitting with their efficient regenerative valve, meaning full power mode is always available.
To return the cylinder, just pull back on the lever and it will return to its starting position automatically, and then pop into neutral.
An optional stroke limiter is available to stop the cylinder from fully retracting, reducing your cycle time by almost 50% (for use on shorter logs).
An optional clamp on side-shelf is available to catch your split logs.
There is also an All-Weather Cover available to protect your splitter from the elements.
All in all this is a well thought out, compact, log splitter.

Wallenstein WXR740L Log Splitter Details
The WXR740L has all the features of the WXR740, but is also Highway Towable with a factory installed light kit and a 4-pin electric connection, as well as safety chains, and highway rated tires.
How to Choose the Right Log Splitter:
There are 4 main choices to consider:
1) TYPE: Do you require an engine-powered model or would you prefer to power it off your tractor or skidsteer?
2) POWER: Most wood can be split by a 20-ton splitter. However, hardwoods with gnarled, twisted grains, such as those that often grow up along a fence line may require a splitter with a higher splitting force.
3) ORIENTATION: Vertical 3-point hitch models, inverted skidsteer models and horizontal-vertical woodsplitters are very helpful when the wood being split is too large or heavy to lift onto a log bed. The Log Lifter fitted to some of the WX900 series models is also helpful in this regard.
4) SPLIT LENGTH: Do you require 24”, 36” or 48” lengths of split wood? If you are interested in a trailer model, consider how much wood you intend to spilt, is it for commercial or rental use, does towed equipment require lights and licensing where you live. If available in your chosen model, a “T”, or Tall version of the splitter can raise the working height to a more comfortable level. The horizontal / vertical splitters can also help in this regard.
