Description
The HLA Snow Pusher for tractors is the best snow removal attachment for most tractor owners in America.
Snow Pusher Vs Snow Plow Vs Snow Blower Vs Bucket
- The open bottom makes it way more efficient at moving snow than a bucket
- The side walls help trap snow and prevent wind rows like what you see from a snow plow
- The optional backdrag can pull away snow from the edge of a garage or retaining wall or parked car
- And a snow pusher is so much less expensive than a snowblower
- There are no mechanical parts for easy maintenance
- No gear box, augers, fans, or hydraulic cylinders to break and maintain
If you’re new to the idea of a snow pusher or if you aren’t sure why we prefer it over a snow plow, check out our videos below comparing the two. But if you already know about a snow pusher and and just need to decide on the right size for your tractor or skidsteer, read on below.
Key advantages of the HLA Snow Pusher:
HLA created the most robust, well-built and smartly-designed snow pusher we have found yet.
A welded double end-wall means no internal cross-bracing to trap snow, a radiused back keeps snow rolling forward as you push, and a fully-enclosed backdrag that pulls serious snow compared to the competition’s which feel like afterthoughts.
And that’s not even the full list of features that set HLA apart.
The 1500 Series is best for most subcompact and small compact tractor owners and is available in widths from 54, 60, 66, and 72 inch widths.
- Radiused Back Rolls Snow Forward And Releases it (Prevents Sticking)
- Mouldboard Thickness: 1/8″
- Vertical Stiffener Thickness: 1/4″
- Reinforced & Tapered Double-Wall Side Panels

Choosing A Cutting Edge
UHMW*
Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene or UHMW (sometimes called poly or plastic) is best summed up by saying “it cuts like steel, but protects like rubber.”
With great wear properties, UHMW cuts well through packed snow, is very quiet, and protective of paved/concrete surfaces. It lasts nearly as long as steel.
*NOTE: UHMW edges are cut to length, ready for you to drill out and add your own hardware, found here.
UHMW installation is easy! This material cuts similar to wood, so the same tools can be used.
Use the existing holes on the pusher components as your template. Then, drill out the piece of UHMW with a multipurpose drill bit matching the hole diameter. For backdrags and main edges, use 1/2″ x 3″ bolts with washers and lock nuts. No backer bars required.
For complete protection on pavement, asphalt, concrete or other delicate surfaces, use a combination of rubber and UHMW or all UHMW on all contact points (main edge, backdrag edge, and skid runners).
Rubber
Protective of paved/concrete surfaces, very quiet, doesn’t cut packed snow at all, shortest life span.
Steel
Wears very well, cuts packed snow very well, but is hard on paved/concrete surfaces, leaves rust stains, and is loud. Great for gravel, stone, and other unpaved surfaces.

Mike K (verified owner) –
I got the 1500 series with UHMW cutting edges, backdrag, and skid runners in October 2023. Absolutely love it the UHMW is the way to go for concrete or asphalt; just put edge on the surface. Gravel areas I keep the edge 1-2 inches off the ground to keep pushing rock off with the snow and extend the life of the UHMW cutting edge. Highly recommend if moving snow a lot.
